Annual Events
Each year the Association coordinates and arranges a number of events that allow members to revisit the hall, catch up with old friends and learn about changes at The University of Manchester. Anselmians will be pleased to hear that life in Hall continues to flourish, and that the current students display the same vitality and cameraderie that former students will remember well.
Of course, some things have changed in line with technological advances, but unlike most other Halls in Manchester, the traditional spirit within the Hall remains, along with the established wide range of activities such as the Play, societies, sports and social functions. The Association itself is also flourishing with successful and well-attended events.
One of these events is the London reunion, which enables those who have gone to London to earn their fortune the chance to meet up and exchange stories. The summer reunion is for everyone and their families, so even 50 or 60 years after leaving the Hall Slemsmen can still come back and meet old friends!
Old Boys Sports Day, held on the Saturday at the end of the Easter term, is when the current Hall football, hockey and rugby teams play their counterparts from years past in a spirited yet enjoyable series of matches. Afterwards there is a dinner in Hall and a trip down to the bar where, by tradition, the Old Boys end up buying most of the drinks.
